Corona antibody tests for Olympic candidates of the National Rifle Association of Japan before the bootcamp
The National Rifle Association of Japan announced on June 11, that it will perform Covid-19 antibody tests for 30 representative athletes and staff of the Tokyo Olympics before the bootcamp at the Ajinomoto National Training Center which starts on 23th of June.
The test will be performed by the doctor in charge of the representative team at a clinic in Tokyo, and if an antibody is found, PRC tests will follow at public health centers.
For the time being, tests will be held once a month for athletes using the NTC. "I want to ensure safety and security of the players, but the PCR test is a hurdle. It is not the best option, but better than only checking body temperature and physical condition." Kiichiro Matsumaru, the chairman of the association, explained.
